These dedicated individuals are deeply committed to our mission of empowering aspiring nurse anesthetists through comprehensive education, mentorship, and resource provision.

Kiki Mattress - President & Founder

  • Founded SFNA from her initial blog, The CRNA Chase, to mentor ICU nurses aspiring to become CRNAs.

  • Holds a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of South Carolina Upstate and a Master of Nurse Anesthesia from the University of New England.

  • Her career began as a nursing assistant, progressing to a surgical tech, ICU nurse, and eventually a CRNA.

  • Committed to enhancing patient care by increasing the number of skilled nurse anesthetists.

​Dr. Michael Olaiya - Board Treasurer

  • As a Co-Founding Director and Board Chair at PEACE Academy Charter, he led strategic planning and fundraising efforts.

  • At Sutton Capital, Inc., he developed investment strategies and built a strong network of investors.

  • As Co-Founder and CFO at Cadera Brands, Inc., he managed financial strategies and compliance.

  • At Walmart Co., he expanded health initiatives through strategic partnerships.

  • His diverse background enhances SFNA's mission to empower future nurse anesthetists.

Alexander Pusey - Board Secretary

  • Director of Business Planning & Operations at Thorne HealthTech, a leader in scientific wellness and dietary supplements.

  • Responsible for strategic planning, managing strategic projects, and supporting operations at Thorne.

  • Holds a BA and an MBA in Business Administration with a concentration in supply chain from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.

  • Engages in speaking engagements and serves on advisory boards, enhancing his leadership in strategic planning and community outreach.

Nzinga Lowe - Board Member

  • Global strategic advisor, clinical healthcare leader, and health equity officer with extensive experience in value-based care.

  • Passionate about improving health outcomes for underserved populations and advancing minority and women-led healthcare initiatives.

  • Works internationally to diversify VC firm portfolios, improve medical practice performance, and implement scalable care initiatives.

  • Dedicated to educating providers on value-based care and enhancing their operational and financial success through strategic initiatives.

Ernest Aliseda - Board Member

  • Principal attorney at DHR Health, overseeing legal operations and navigating healthcare regulations.

  • Serves as a Municipal Judge and State Magistrate in McAllen, Texas, and is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel.

  • Former Regent for the University of Texas System, advocating for healthcare education and community development.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish, enhancing the board’s communication and outreach efforts.
